Deputy Commissioner: Corporate Services, Border Management Authority (BMA)
Ms Thupana’s career took off as a Geography Lecturer in the late 80’s. She is an independent researcher and governance expert with more than twenty years of experience in executive positions within the public sector. She also served in the Corporate Governance and Compliance structures of various government departments, public entities and Constitutional Institutions.
Her latest full-time position (prior to her appointment by the President as Deputy Commissioner in the BMA) was that of Executive Chairperson of the Municipal Demarcation Board of South Africa. Her qualifications include an Honours Degree in Geography, Diploma in Development Studies, a Masters Degree in Public Administration, and a Masters Degree in Business Leadership.
