THE BORDER MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY WARNS THE PUBLIC OF SCAMMERS USING THE BMA DETAILS

The Border Management Authority (BMA) has been made aware of alleged fraudulent requests for quotation (RFQs) and orders using the logo and details of the organization.

Over the years a number of unsuspecting service providers have been targeted to provide quotations, supplies and payments upfront for non-existent services requested from government departments and entities.   These fraudsters use fictitious documents containing logos such as official purchase order/s, letters and contracts.

The BMA therefore advises service providers to verify all the RFQs and orders by calling the BMA using contact details listed on https://www.bma.gov.za in order to ascertain authenticity prior to responding to any RFQs or orders to avoid falling prey to these fraudsters.

The BMA does not charge any fees for database registration forms, quotations or tender documentation; therefore, all prospective suppliers / bidders are cautioned to contact the organization when they suspect any scam or receive fictitious documents with the BMA logo or details being used. Please be vigilant of these fraudsters and also report them to the National Anti-Corruption Hotline on 0800 701 701.
